Heal My Spirit

Every human being is composed of body, soul and spirit and our spirit is the source of our wisdom, our connection with God, our blessings and curses, and our general life orientation and deepest character.

But our spirit can be damaged or defiled. Sin, folly, extreme trauma and spiritual attack can all cause it to be wounded or deceived.

When this happens life is painful and often becomes dysfunctional.
But the good news is that Jesus has come to heal us body, soul and spirit.

Jesus can out-bless the curses, forgive all of our sins, heal the damage from all of our traumas and give us wisdom instead of folly and 'set a right spirit within us'. The following prayer is one way to start that process happening. Just pray it two or more times a day for two weeks and you will notice changes. I have put the bible references next to each line so you can know that it is sound and biblical.

The prayer is in three parts, Confession to cleanse you and guard you, Promise to strengthen you and affirm you, and Victory to bring you through - and you should pray all three parts each time you pray the prayer. During the Confession phase you may want to confess specific sins, of yourself or your parents and ancestors, such as occult involvement, the use of drugs or the possession of idols.

Confession

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. (Psalm 51:10)
I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek Your servant; for I do not forget Your Commandments. (Psalm 119:76)
I confess all the sins of my parents and ancestors. (Exodus 20:5, 34:7, Numbers 14:18, Deuteronomy 5:9)
And I renounce the Devil and all his works ( 2 Corinthians 4:2, 1John 3:8) and command the Devil to depart from me. (Matthew 4;10, James 4:7)
And I turn to Jesus Christ as my sole Lord and Savior. (2 Peter 1:11, John 3:16)
And all the ground that Satan, sin, trauma, ignorance and folly have had in my life I give fully over to God and to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. (Colossians 1:12-14)
And I ask for the filling of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:38,39, Ephesians 5:18)
And I put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18)

Promises

Though my sins be as scarlet yet they shall be as white as snow. (Isaiah 1:18)
For Christ has made me alive together with Him and forgiven all my sins. (Colossians 2:13)

And all the handwriting that was against me has been blotted out, taken away and nailed to the cross of Christ. (Colossians 2:14)
And all curses against my life have been laid on Christ who became a curse for me. (Galatians 3:10-14)

So that I may know the blessings of Abraham (Galatians 3:9,14,29) and have righteousness , peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. (Romans 14:17, 15”13)
Indeed all the blessings in the heavenly realms are mine in Christ Jesus. (Ephesians 1:3)

Victory

For God has delivered me out of the kingdom of darkness and moved me into the Kingdom of his dear Son so that I may have an inheritance with all the saints in light. (Colossians 1:12-14)

O most merciful God, forgive my sins (Luke 11;4), heal my brokenness (Psalm 147:3), turn all my curses into blessings (Nehemiah 13:2), and place wisdom in my inmost being (Psalm 51:6, Isaiah 11:2, Ecclesiastes 2:26, Ephesians 1:17), so that I might serve you in spirit and in truth. (John 4:24)

O Lord I shall overcome all things, even the entire world, for greater is He who is in me, than he who is in the world. (I John 4:4)

Some good bible passages for healing your spirit: Psalm 51, Isaiah 9:6,7, 11:1-3, Colossians chapters 1& 2, and the whole of Ephesians.

Please pass this prayer on - and share the blessing!
